A MISSING puppy has been reunited with her devoted owners.

Hundreds of people shared an appeal to find Nancy, a seven-month-old Shar-Pei puppy, after she disappeared at Hill End near Wolsingham on June 17.

Her owners Gemma Reid and family, from Meadowfield, searched the area twice daily for more than a week, with many friends and even strangers helping out but to no avail. They were starting to fear the worst but last weekend there were a series of sightings, and on Tuesday, thanks to Mandy Butler, a volunteer dog rescue trapper, the much loved pup was found.

“I got a call from a lady who lives near where Nancy went missing to say she was with her,” said Ms Reid. “I’ve never cried so much. I would like to thank Mandy and everyone who helped us.”

Nancy has severe allergies and had not taken her medication for ten days. She was also badly sunburnt.

However, she is back home and receiving lots of love and attention, especially from Ms Reid’s nine-year-old son, Zac Pearson.
