A FREE festival with music, sport, food and drink has been hailed a great success by Richmondshire Cricket Club.
Mark Layfield from the club said the event was the first time the club had held one like it, but it had such a positive reception that it would certainly be repeated.
The club went into partnership with North Yorkshire-based events company Totem Tipi to stage the community ALL OUT! Weekend.
Held at the club’s Hurgill Road ground, over the four days of the event there was live music, BBQ, yoga, fancy dress competition, community stalls and activities, games, art workshops and, of course, cricket.
Some of the events, including a bar, were held in two giant tipis provided by Totem Tipi, a social enterprise established by Connecting Youth Culture and all income generated by the event will go back into supporting the cricket club and CYC’s Youth Arts projects for vulnerable young people in North Yorkshire.
Mr Layfield said: “It was a fantastic success, better than we could have hoped."
