SOLICITORS will celebrate the fourth anniversary of a community initiative with a fundraising event on Friday.
DMA Law Link was established in the wake of cuts to legal aid in a bid to ensure all who need it have access to free legal advice.
A subsidiary of DMA Law, the walk-in facility offers consultations, advice and signposting from an office on Skinnergate.
Between 10am and 4pm this Friday, the organisation will also offer the opportunity to celebrate its fourth year and raise money for a good cause.
A birthday bake sale and raffle in aid of St Teresa's Hospice will be held in order to raise funds to support the charity, which helps people in the local area.
Advisor Chris Cox said: “We’ve been open for four years now and every year we choose a charity to help.
“A lot of the bigger charities get widespread support so we thought rather than go for one of those, we’d choose one in the local area.
“We’re also hoping to get rid of the stigma of solicitors as being ambulance chasers.
"We really want to help our community.”
