A CREAMERY famous for Wensleydale cheese has launched a new “Yorkshire Cheddar”.

Handcrafted using local milk, the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes says its new brand is typically aged for up to 15 months for proper strength and character.

David Hartley, managing director, said: “Cheddar is a signature British cheese, and we are delighted to be adding it to our range of high quality Yorkshire produce.”

Cheddar accounts for nearly half the cheese market in the UK, with a spend of £1,358bn.

Yorkshire Cheddar is available in 320g pre-pack and 1.25kg deli size formats, in Morrisons northern stores, independent retailers and the Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre Cheese Shop.
