PAIGE Dalby, 24, has been awarded the Young Persons Cup by the Royal Agricultural Benevolence Institute (RABI) for her continuous efforts and involvement with the agricultural charity over the past five years.

Paige has volunteered as a fundraiser on the North Yorkshire RABI committee working behind the scenes to arrange a number of events including quizzes, golf days and charity dances and balls.

More recently, Paige took centre stage and competed in a Strictly Come Dancing-style charity dinner dance, a competition organised by the RABI.

With no previous dancing experience, Paige and her partner, Sam Ullyott, learnt the jive in a matter of weeks and danced themselves to the top taking home the first-prize trophy.

Paige also faced her fear of heights and completed a 40-metre free fall abseil raising money for RABI.

The North Yorkshire RABI committee raised just short of £50,000 last year for the charity, which spends about £2,000,000 across the country annually, helping farming families and communities in times of need.

Across North Yorkshire, approximately £160,000 was given to struggling families in the farming community last year alone.
