FORTY-eight hours of music has seen enough money raised to carry out a full refurbishment of a hospital's chemotherapy ward.
The Music v Cancer Weekender saw several bands and performers entertain crowds in Hartlepool's Grand Hotel in a bid to fundraise for the North Tees Hospital, in Stockton.
A cheque of £108,000 was presented to the hospital, with a £62,800 chunk of the donation generated solely from the weekend.
The North Tees Chemotherapy Trust Fund also presented £54,000 based on fund-matching negotiated by Music v Cancer.
Rachel Blackmore, operational manager at North Tees Hospital, said: “Funds raised will enhance the environment for patients and staff with the provision of separate treatment areas and a designated reception area.”
