ARMED officers made an arrest after reports of a man carrying a handgun in the street.
Durham Police was called to Church Hill, Crook, County Durham, at 5.45pm yesterday after members of public reported seeing a man carrying what was believed to be a handgun.
Officers arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
Residents raised concerns on social media at around 6pm after spotting a man in the Church Hill area carrying what they believed to be a gun.
The man arrested remains in custody at Bishop Auckland Police Station.
