A COUPLE were punched, kicked and bitten by a group of youngsters in Bishop Auckland bus station, say police.

Officers in the town are appealing for information about the attack which left the male and female with injuries.

A spokesperson for the force said the group of youths began arguing with the couple before punching, kicking and biting them.

The pair managed to make off towards Morrison’s where they were picked up by a family member.

The incident happened at around 9.15pm on Friday, April 13.

Police have released descriptions of two suspects they would like to speak to.

The first is a male, described as being around 6ft, medium build with ginger hair wearing a black Adidas tracksuit.

And a female suspect is described as having red or purple hair and was wearing a grey tracksuit.

Anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who has any information is asked to call 101, quoting reference number 480 of April 13.
