HUNDREDS of ponies from across the UK will be shown in the region next month.
The Dales Pony Society Spring Stallion and Breed Show will be held in Streatlam Farm in Barnard Castle on May 5, starting at 10am.
From small beginnings, the show has grown to include classes for mares and all ages of ponies, both in hand and ridden. More than 100 ponies are expected to be shown, with exhibitors from the Durham Dales and as far afield as the North-East of Scotland and Kent.
