FUTURE plans for a historic recreation ground will be discussed at a meeting later this month.

The Friends of Fryer’s Field Recreation Ground are inviting the public to join them as they consider proposals for the area.

Gifted to the children of Haughton by Frederick Fryer in 1930, the area has a playground, basketball court and junior football field.

Members of the Friends group are consulting with the public to see what other facilities could be introduced to improve the site.

Proposals so far include a teen shelter, CCTV coverage, lighting, a dog walking area, more accessibility and better seating along pathways.

The meeting will be held from 10am on Sunday, April 29 at St Anne’s Church Hall, Wellbeck Avenue, Haughton le Skerne. For more information, search for the Friends of Fryer’s Field on Facebook.
