A FIVE-year management plan for a national park has been published for public consultation.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has published the National Park Management Plan 2019-2024, which contains details on farming and land management, economic regeneration and public rights of way.

It has been shaped by an initial consultation last summer, and by the Government’s eight-point plan for England’s national parks.

Richmondshire District Council are among the 16 organisations in the steering group who produced the plan.

Yvonne Peacock, council leader, said: “Community sustainability, the future of farming after Brexit and wildlife crime came out as the top three concerns of the public.

“It is possible that something has been missed, or that the objectives that have emerged need to be tweaked. That’s what this second consultation is about.”
