PRIMARY school pupils got colourfully creative in the classroom to mark the launch of new safety book.
Children from Alverton Primary school in Northallerton helped homebuilder Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire celebrate the launch of its inaugural children’s story with a special colouring competition.
The book, entitled ‘How We Build Your Home’ follows the adventures of the homebuilder’s mascots, Milly Mortar and Handy Andy, along with important construction site safety messages.
Competition winners received book vouchers to further encourage the love of reading.
Richard Linsley, headteacher at Alverton Primary School which is close to Taylor Wimpey’s Thurstan Park development said: “This was a lovely idea by Taylor Wimpey - all the children were delighted to take part in the competition.
“Our winners were thrilled with their vouchers and all the children have enjoyed reading their copy of ‘How We Build Your Home’, which is such a great way of explaining a complex topic for children.”
More than 3,000 of the books have been handed out to children around the UK to mark its launch.
