A TEENAGER is facing jail after being caught with thousands of indecent images of children - some of which he shared online.
Jake Cresswell was told by a judge that it "seems inevitable" he will be locked up when he next appears at Teesside Crown Court.
The 19-year-old, of The Hills, Skelton, east Cleveland, pleaded guilty to three charges of distributing indecent images - a total of 134 in three categories - three counts of making indecent images amounting to 2,851, possessing extreme pornography and possessing prohibited images.
His case was adjourned until March 29 so a pre-sentence report can be compiled.
His lawyer, Robert Mochrie, said: "This is an extremely serious offence. The defendant is under no illusion as to the likely outcome, so far as the type of sentence is concerned."
Judge Howard Crowson told Cresswell: "The report is mainly for the court's benefit, to learn a bit more about you. You will get a custodial sentence, I'm confident about that."
