A MAN has been arrested following a police raid at a house in Teesdale.
Armed police officers were seen at the house on the B6282, just outside Middleton-in-Teesdale on Wednesday afternoon.
The police shut the road at about 4pm while the incident was ongoing.
There were also reports of three police vehicles and a Durham Constabulary dog van outside two houses on the approach to the village.
A spokeswoman for Durham Constabulary confirmed a police warrant had been executed at the address as part of an ongoing investigation and a man was now in custody.
She said: "A 53-year-old man is currently in custody following the warrant.
"He has attended as a voluntary attender in relation to allegations of possession of a firearm and cultivation of cannabis."
