A MAN has died following a car crash in which he appeared initially to get out of unscathed.
The driver of a Rover 45 was involved in the collision with another vehicle at noon on Tuesday on the B6282 at Etherley Moor, Bishop Auckland.
Bishop Auckland Police said both drivers of the red Rover and grey Vauxhall Corsa pulled over to the side of the road and got out of their vehicles after the crash.
However, the driver of the Rover collapsed and suffered what police described as being an apparent “medical episode”.
The spokesperson, writing on Facebook, said he received medical treatment at the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
Anyone who has information about the crash is asked to contact Durham Constabulary on non-emergency 101 quoting incident number 144 of February 13.
