A CHARITY that fights loneliness and social isolation is launching a new scheme to encourage older people to plan ahead.
Age UK County Durham’s first Write Your Will Week will run March 12 to 16 and will see solicitors waive their fees to help couples or individuals aged 50 or over get their affairs in order.
In return they will ask for a suggested donation to Age UK.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “Life changes, sometimes suddenly. We meet many people looking for a new group of friends, people to share and spend time with. Life changes mean also thinking of the future and changing or writing a will to ensure your wishes will be known and loved ones spared difficult decisions.”
Booking is essential. To make an appointment with a solicitor in your area, call 0191-3746367.
