A FARM-based children’s nursery has chosen the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) as its charity of the year for 2018.
The charity was chosen by High Bank Day Nursery in Stapleton, near Darlington, following a vote by parents and staff.
And the nursery is now busy planning the events it hopes will exceed the £2,000 it raised for its first-ever charity of the year in 2017, Herriot Hospice Homecare.
Among the events in the pipeline include an afternoon tea, parents’ sponsored walk, children’s sponsored jog and a curry night to mark National Curry Week.
Nursery Manager Hayley Grainger said: “After the success of our fundraising last year, we were keen to keep the momentum going and choose a charity where all the money raised stays in the local area.”
