RESIDENTS are invited to join a community litter pick which will be held as part of a multi-agency clean up operation.
A nine-week Community Action Scheme is currently underway in an area covering 540 homes in terraced street near Spennymoor town centre. The Durham County Council-led initiative aims to tackle issues like empty properties and flytipping and to improve health and wellbeing.
To support the efforts by joining a litter pick on Thursday, meet next to the former North Eastern pub at 10am. All equipment will be provided, but participants need to dress appropriately for the outdoors and children must be accompanied by an adult.
A drop-in session at Spennymoor Leisure Centre on Wednesday, February 28, from 1pm to 5pm, will provide updates and the public can report any issues.
