DURHAM-born composer Will Todd will be coming home for the opening concert of the Durham Choral Festival.

The Durham Choral Society will be performing at Durham Cathedral with the Will Todd Ensemble, presenting two of his most iconic choral works, at 7.30pm on Saturday, January 27.

Mass in Blue and Jazz Missa Brevis bring together the ancient Latin Mass and modern Jazz, two very important influences in the composer’s life.

Todd, who is also the society's president, will be giving a pre-concert talk in the cathedral at 6pm.

Durham Choral Society will be joined by Voices of Hope who won Radio 3 Choir of the Year 2016 and Durham County Youth Choir.

Tickets (£18 and £10, concessions £16 and £8, Under-18s and full-time students £9 and £5) can be bought in advance at the Gala Theatre Box Office or online from www.wegottickets.com or on the door
