MODEL enthusiasts have created two “one of a kind” miniature vehicles to be raffled off in aid of charity.

The Great North Air Ambulance themed models will be raffled for the charity at an toy fair in Bowburn on Sunday.

They have been made by Stan Walton and David Hutchinson, from Peterlee, with artwork done by Andrew Chadwick.

Mr Walton said: “They are one of a kind pieces. We get them specially done and painted for the Great North Air Ambulance, which we like to support because it’s our local charity.”

The group, who are former members of the Diecast Club in Chester-le-Street, which closed several years ago, have been organising the event since 2010.

Over the last decade they have raised more than £10,000 for the charity.

The toy and trains collectors fair, which features an exhibition of Meccano pieces, takes place at Bowburn Community Centre, in Durham Road, on Sunday, December 17 and is open from 10am to 2.30pm.

Entry is £1.50 for adults, £1.30 for concession and a family ticket is £4.20.
