A DINNER dance celebrating the life of Lance Corporal Ben Hyde and colleagues who died serving their country is being held on June 24.
The formal dinner is the latest event which has helped the military policeman’s family raise over £100,000 for grants and good causes, distributed in his name. It’s being held in the Yorkshire Suite of the Golden Lion in Northallerton. For tickets call 01609 780980.
Laurence Whitely, MBE, from Northallerton, the British parasport rower who carried off gold at Rio, is the celebrity guest. Lance Corporal Hyde’s father John said:” I am sure that Ben would be proud to think that he, in some small way, contributed to the success of Laurence and his partner. Every grant we make, in Ben’s name, does make a difference to someone’s life.”
Lance Corporal Hyde was killed in Iraq in 2003.
