BLIZZARDS caused traffic chaos on the A66 with cars and lorries struggling in heavy snow.
This picture, taken by Alison Coatsworth, a member of the Northern Echo Camera Club, shows the moment a jackknifed lorry came to a rest across the busy trans-Pennine route.
Alison said: "It's just about passable with care. Big drifts are starting to form on the summit."

After a difficult weekend weather forecasters say things are set to improve overnight.
A spokesman for Highways England said: "Snow will continue to fall over the highest routes of the Pennines during the first part of the night but their intensity is not likely to add any degree of disruption.
"As the night progresses however and despite the ongoing cold wind, it’ll become mostly dry for all."
