A SCIENTIFIC masterclass will be delivered in the North-East by decorated medical professor and television personality, Lord Robert Winston.

Professor Winston is set to give his talk on Modifying Humans: Where Does Genetics Stop to explore the advances in gene technology and the ethics of modifying human genes.

Yarm School will host the award-winning Professor in the school’s Princess Alexandra Auditorium in April 2017.

David Dunn, headmaster of Yarm School, said: “Robert Winston is one of the world’s most recognised scientists and medical professors and his visit is a real coup.

“The subject of his talk is absolutely fascinating and will hold a great appeal across the spectrum, not only to medical and scientific professionals, but to the wider public.

“We are looking forward to welcoming Robert Winston to Yarm, in what will be one of the Princess Alexandra Auditorium’s flagship events for 2017.”

Prof Winston will also give an insight into his varied career which has taken him from science labs to the House of Lords.
