A DARLINGTON author has launched her latest children’s book.
Carol Dean’s book Charlie Dryden and the Stolen Roman Standard was officially launched at the Corbridge Roman Town recently.
The unusual location was chosen to reflect the Roman influence of the book, which is part of the Charlie Dryden series.
Ms Dean said: “With each story I like to bring in some interesting facts or history, working this extra information into the story so that young readers can learn about the main topic.
“In this book, I wove history into the storyline about a Roman occupation in the North-East and the importance of the standard to the Roman soldiers.”
