A WINE-tasting challenge has been issued by campaigners hoping to win Fair Trade status for their town.
Richmond Fairtrade Forum will ask people their opinion of fairly traded wines at the town hall on Wednesday, at 7.30pm.
Host Nobby Dimon, of North Country Theatre, will also run a wine quiz with prizes and there are Fair Trade juices for drivers and other products on sale.
"Richmond is attempting to win Fair Trade town status and we are hoping more people will be putting Fair Trade products into their weekly shopping basket," said steering group convenor Gillian Howells.
"This is a great opportunity to discover what a great selection of products now exists - all good quality, all available locally and, even better, are guaranteeing a better deal for the people and communities producing them."
The group plans to produce a Fair Trade guide to Richmond with details of shops, cafes, restaurants, businesses, schools, churches and accommodation.
