A COUNCIL newsletter has been criticised by county councillors for being biased in favour of the Tory party.
Liberal Democrat councillors working for North Yorkshire County Council are furious after a full page was devoted to arguing for a new unitary council covering the whole county and the abolition of the district councils.
They say the current edition of the North Yorkshire Times makes no mention of the case for closer partnerships between the existing county council and seven district councils.
Knaresborough councillor, Bill Hoult, said: "The NY Times is supposed to be for informing residents about county council services, not arguing political points."
Liberal Democrat councillors are considering whether to report the matter to the district auditor.
