A WELL-known North Yorkshire pub that has been derelict for years has been bought by two brothers, but mystery still surrounds its future.
Charles and Toby Wood, who already own the Fox and Rabbit at Lockton and the Horseshoe at Levisham are the new owners of the Saltersgate Inn, on the North York Moors between Pickering and Whitby.
Charles Wood confirmed they had bought it but declined to comment on their plans for the building.
The pub sold at auction in May for £107,500.
The Saltersgate Inn dates back to 1648 but it closed in 2007 and has since fallen into severe disrepair.
