TWO people were hurt, one seriously, after their car hit a tractor head-on.
A 49-year-old man and a woman in her 40s had to be cut free from their Peugeot 206 after it collided with a tractor on Sharon Avenue, Kelloe, County Durham, at about 6.15am on Wednesday, January 13.
The male driver suffered serious, though not life-threatening, injuries and was taken to the James Cook University Hospital.
The female passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham.
Fire crews from Spennymoor and Wheatley Hill attended and both the man and the woman had to be cut from the wreckage of the car.
The tractor driver was unhurt.
Some cars parked nearby were also damaged, but they were unoccupied at the time.
