DOCTOR Who’s Tardis flew into a North-East town centre to promote an upcoming fundraising evening.
Curious shoppers in Darlington were lining up to have their photo taken with the replica Tardis, which was in the town’s Joseph Pease Place to promote the upcoming evening with Doctor Who star, Mark Gatiss, at Darlington Civic Theatre.
The actor and screenwriter, who was born in Sedgefield and went to school in Newton Aycliffe, is responsible for TV hits such as The League of Gentleman and Sherlock.
He will host an event at Darlington Civic Theatre in October in aid of a new police memorial at Darlington Police Station.
The Tardis came from 4th Element Diving, in Stockton, and Janette Sharpe, from Darlington police, said: “Quite a lot of people have been interested in what is going on, and we have taken quite a lot of pictures with the Tardis.
“Lots of people have been asking where they can get tickets from.”
An Evening with Mark Gatiss will take place on Saturday, October 3 and tickets are £18 and £17.
