A MAN has appeared in court accused of attempting to murder his wife.
Laurence Crosby, 65, appeared at Newcastle Crown Court to deny the charge.
He is alleged to have attacked his wife Jean at their home in Sunderland in May.
Judge Paul Sloan QC said Crosby would stand trial in December. He was granted conditional bail in the meantime.
