PLANS are under way for a gala May Day festival in an east Durham seaside town.
Seaham Town Council is staging the event on Bank Holiday Monday on May 7 at Deneside Park.
The day will be held between 11am and 3pm.
It will include entertainment by Mr Lido the magician, Mr Windbags the clown, the Kern Morris Dancers, Dawdon Rhythm School of Acrobatics and a maypole dancing display by Seaview Primary School.
The town council says anyone can attend and promises chances to win prizes.
People will also have an opportunity to enjoy a slice of cake at a fun-packed teddy bear's picnic.
Anyone arriving at the event by car is asked by organisers to park vehicles along the Dalton-le-Dale road - and not on the public highway.
