BEDALE High School is celebrating some of its latest sporting successes.
Fifteen pupils were chosen to represent North Yorkshire county in the Norwich Union Yorkshire Sportshall athletics championships in Halifax. They competed in events, including high jump, shot putt, sprints, distance and specialist indoor events.
Kate Chapman was crowned Yorkshire champion for her successes in the four-lap distance race and vertical jump. Harriet Jakeman, Beth Capel, Charlotte Dinsdale, Aimee Gasgoine, Lily Cuthbert and Sarah Wyke all won silver medals.
In the team competitions, the under-13 girls were runners up, narrowly missing a place in the national finals, and the under-13 boys finished third.
The school scored another success when, in the Hambleton and Richmondshire area schools gymnastics championships, Jonathan Rainer and Sam Stocks won a gold medal in the under-13 boys partner work.
