EYE-catching art work with a strong Antipodean theme has gone on display in a Ripon gallery.
Leeds-based Wendy McArthur, pictured, draws on her time living in Australia for ideas for her art work.
She headed to West Yorkshire after spending 40 years living Down Under.
Her brightly coloured paintings, on show in The Gallery, on Kirkgate, show gum trees and fish-filled pools.
She draws upon the world famous David Hockney and paints landscapes, portraits and abstract works.
Daniel Hornsey of the gallery said: "We've seen many people stop in their tracks as they've walked past our windows, astounded by the sheer joy of the work."
Ms McArthur's work is on display until the end of April. The Gallery is open Monday to Saturday between 10am and 6pm and on Sundays from noon to 4pm. Call 01765-602878.
