A WETLAND centre is planning a series of family activities for the Easter holidays.

Washington Wetland Centre is planning a two-week Spring Into Life event, starting on Monday, April 2, with a series of guided walks, discovery trails and craft sessions.

On April 5, there will be a chance to meet some chicks, rabbits, new lambs, rats and an African bullfrog.

There will be an Easter parade party on Saturday, April 7, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, with egg decorating competitions and an Easter bonnet competition. Finally, on Thursday, April 12, there will be an animal education workshop, with a chance to learn more about snakes, scorpions and giant tortoises.

Washington Wetland Centre has undergone major changes in the past year, which are due to be completed in the coming weeks, including new wildfowl habitats and feeding area, as well as a makeover for the visitor centre and Splash Zone adventure play area.
