A 12-YEAR-OLD girl was injured when she fell down a bank and landed in a stream last night.
The girl was with a friend when she fell eight feet into the stream, at Bonemill Lane in the Fatfield area of Washington, at about 10.30pm.
Her friend contacted the ambulance service who requested the help of the fire service to move the girl.
She was placed onto a spinal board and carried back up the bank to a waiting ambulance.
She was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital for treatment on a suspected dislocated kneecap.
