A MAN was taken to hospital after emergency services were called to Richmond Market Place on Sunday afternoon.

A member of the public called for an ambulance after seeing the man had harmed himself outside the town’s Age UK store.

A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to Richmond market place at 2.15pm on Sunday after a shop worker became concerned for the safety of a man sat outside the Age UK shop.

“Police found a man in his twenties with an injury to his arm. He was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

“Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”

North Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed the man had been treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, and that he was in a stable condition.
