A CHARITY event to raise money for a sick toddler took place on Saturday.
The fundraiser, in aid of Bradley Lowery, was held at Rushyfields Care Centre on Brandon Lane in Brandon, near Durham.
The two-year-old, of Blackhall, east Durham, who has the rare childhood cancer neuroblastoma, is currently undergoing treatment.
Children who attended the event enjoyed a visited from Father Christmas and residents at the care home made donations in return for a range of Christmas treats.
Bradley’s parents, Gemma and Carl, are campaigning to raise £500,000 for treatment in the US to fight any relapses he may suffer and the event raised £100.
Care home manager Karen Burberry said: “It was a really successful day and a good time was had by all.
“One of the nurses knows his family so we wanted to do what we could to help.”
