Teesside Girls

THE Under-12s entertained Brompton Allstars and in an entertaining match ran out 2-0 victors.

Ebony Housam playing on the right wing tortured the Brompton defence all match by running at them at every opportunity.

It was after one of these mazy runs that Teesside took the lead when her shot was parried out by the keeper to the onrushing Megan Dixon who had a simple tap in.

Then Ebony scored herself after dribbling past three players and hammering an unstoppable shot past the stranded keeper.

The whole team played well with Michaela and Tyler solid at the back, Ailsa showing safe hands in a boggy goalmouth, Amy her usual self covering every inch of the pitch, Beth raiding down the left flank and Megan and Ebony combining well to score the goals. Rosie, Hannah, Bethany and Megan McEwan all played well when introduced showing the strength in depth of the Teesside squad.

Teesside: Ailsa Park, Tyler Cheetham, Michaela Simpson, Amy Thompson, Beth Enderwick, Ebony Housam, Megan Dixon, Hannah McCullagh, Rosie Gardner, Megan McEwan, Bethany Woodcock and Zoe Libbey.

Peterlee Town and Ladies

AFTER Two important wins against leaders Boro, and now top half of table Stretford has settled the nerves of Peterlee by opening up a gap of seven points from the bottom two with a 3-2 victory away from home.

This game was fast and furious and the away team had the better of the exchanges.

Stretford opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 13 minutes before. Rachel Weightman pulled the goal back with a left footed free-kick, two minutes from half-time.

Amanda Ross was then pulled down in the box and increased the lead from the spot.

Peterlee continues to be the better footballing team but conceded a second but played the game out and came away from a wet, cold and windy Blackpool with three very valuable points.

In the second game Peterlee beat Middlesbrough 2-1.

Peterlee were well beaten by Boro 7-1 in the first game of this season but gained revenge in this home fixture.

The visitors took the lead in the third minute. Claire Normondale, Peterlee's goalkeeper, seemed to have the shot covered but it held up in the wind and past her outstretched arms.

The home team took the game to Middlesbrough and pegged them back in their half with the help of the wind and soon levelled from a 35 yard free kick courtesy of central defender Rae Taylor.

Peterlee expected to be under the cosh in the second half but Boro didn't take advantage of the driving wind and rain and with 12 minutes to go new signing Leanne Bell scoring.

* Peterlee are looking for a coach to take over the two teams, must have experience.
