OFFICIALS at an outdoor centre are hoping an arts event will prove a big draw.
The Bowlees Visitor Centre, near Middleton-in-Teesdale, is taking part in the national Family Arts Festival and international Big Draw on Saturday, October 26.
Budding young artists are welcome to go along between 1pm to 5pm to draw the wildlife of the North Pennines.
Simon Wilson, project development officer with the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) partnership, which runs the centre, said: “These are great events that encourage people to express themselves through art.
“We want people to come along, draw our wildlife and learn more about the North Pennines.”
The event, which includes materials, is free and drawings will be displayed in the centre.
The artwork will also be entered into a competition for a wildlife gift set that includes a nest box, insect hotel, bird feeder and nature guides.
