FIVE car dealerships throughout the region are making a charitable donation for every new 63 registration car bought from them in September.
The initiative involves SG Petch dealerships in Durham, Darlington, Middlesbrough, Richmond and York who will donate £5 from each 63-plate sale to Macmillan Cancer Support and Butterwick Hospice.
The scheme has been created by Samantha Petch, director of the dealership chain, and she is hopeful it will raise up to £10,000 to be shared between the two charities.
Ms Petch said: “We are proud to associate SG Petch with Macmillan Cancer Support and Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland and hope we can donate a significant amount towards helping these two great charities.
“Or first event will be our coffee day to be held on Friday August 30 at each of our five dealerships across the North East.”
