QUESTION

I have found a hard lump slightly larger than a pea on the fleshy part of Tysons front, right arm pit, just above his elbow, hes had it for about 6 months (maybe longer,) however I thought it may just be a fatty lump or somthing, I hate taking him to the vets as it stresses him out so much, however of course I will if you think it sounds suspicious. It doesnt seem to be causes him any distress, unless I press it. However since the warmer weather has appeard his front paws have cracked so hes limping very badly, I hope this hasnt anything to do with this.

ANSWER

Dear Carly,
I often find these type of lumps in dogs, that you are describing. they tend to be inspissated cysts, don't grow at all, but equally do not regress. That being the case, I feel that if there is no growth, then until your pet has to go to the vets, for a booster for example, then just monitor it, say every two weeks. Also, dont squeeze it! Even if it does not go away, then you still do not need it cut out.
