A SERIES of spooky incidents has convinced a young man that his new home is being haunted by an angry ghost.

Adam Maddison, of Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, believes the hostile spirit is haunting a row of terraced houses in Skipton Close, but says it has focused on him due to his psychic tendencies.

Since moving into the property on June 30, the 19-year-old has felt an eerie presence and mysterious scratch marks have appeared in the newly decorated walls.

Curtains have moved by their own accord and, earlier this week, the living room door slammed shut, breaking the hinge and trapping Mr Maddison and his friends inside.

He has even seen the silhouette of a tall man moving through the guest bedroom.

“I am not a psychic, but I do have a connection with the paranormal so I think that is why he is picking on me,” said Mr Maddison.

“He is a bully and he doesn’t want to share the house. When I first moved in here, this was my home, but I have not felt comfortable since all this started about a week ago.”

A spokesperson from livin, the social landlord that owns the property, said they had not received any reports of the property being haunted from previous tenants.
