A NORTH-EAST teenager had an unforgettable journey to her school prom – being escorted by a convoy of leather-clad bikers led by her grandfather.

Sascha-Jai Preston, from Darlington, recently finished her GCSEs at Hummersknott Academy.

The 16-year-old set off for her prom night with friends at Hardwick Hall, near Sedgefield, on Friday.

Leading the escort was her grandfather, the hirsute Hells Angel known simply as Jungle.

Jungle and his biker pals laid on a surprise white Beauford classic car to take Sascha-Jai and her two friends, Ella Grogan and Tiffany McIntyre, to the ball in style.

They then followed the car to the prom in a parade of leathers, beards and revving engines.

The teenager’s mother, Nichola Preston, said: “If anyone would ask Sascha-Jai about her best friend, it’s her granddad.

“He is so close to her and her other siblings – 11-year-old Joshuam, Zachary, two, and twin girls, Harley and Madison, who are 17 months old.

“He is such an important person in their lives and without a doubt is the best granddad they could ever have wished for and has given them some amazing and ridiculously funny memories while growing up.

“My dad did her proud and it is something she will never forget.”
