POLICE were last night investigating whether the death of a man from a heart attack was linked to an earlier incident.
The 45-year-old man collapsed and died at a house in Arcadia Terrace, in Blyth, Northumberland, on Saturday night.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said the man was believed to have been involved in an altercation earlier in the evening and officers were investigating whether the two incidents were linked.
A post-mortem examination revealed the man died from a heart attack.
The force spokeswoman said: "The ambulance service was called to a house in Arcadia Terrace, in Blyth, on Saturday, at 8.11pm, following reports that a man had collapsed.
''The 45-year-old local man was pronounced dead at the scene and police attended.
''Earlier that same evening, the man was believed to have been involved in an altercation in George Street and police are investigating to see if these two events are linked.
