POLICE have renewed an appeal for information about an incident in which a pensioner was badly hurt in a bag snatch.

The 64-year-old woman was sitting on a wall in the car park at the rear of Chester-le-Street's Co-op store at about 5pm, on Tuesday, November 21, when she was approached by two men.

One grabbed the victim's bag, pulling her off the wall as he did so, before both men ran off.

The woman was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Durham where she is still being treated for fractures to her upper arm.

Detective Sergeant Kevin Moore said: "The victim has been left with serious injuries, which will have a lasting effect on her life. I would appeal to anyone who thinks they may have seen the people responsible to contact us."

Anyone with information can call 0845-60-60-365 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
