Jack Hatfield Sports Teesside League, Division One: BEADS FC 3 Thornaby Ath 4.

LEADERS BEADS entertained third-placed Thornaby Athletic, who took a sixth minute lead with a controversial penalty converted by Glen Corkain.

The home side were back on level terms 14 minutes later when a Mark Sowerby shot hit the post and Matthew Cook followed up to pull it back to 1-1. Five minutes later a long throw caught out the BEADS defence and a shot from Shaun Howe from ten yards gave the visitors a 2-1 lead.

Five minutes before half-time a delightful curling shot from Paul Roddam gave the visitors a 3-1 lead, but the home side struck back right on the stroke of half-time when a Chris Fuller chip found Steve Morrison who ran on to pull it back to 3-2.

In the second half the home side lost their keeper and had to replace him with an outfield player who's mistake in the 84th minute allowed Thornaby to take a 4-2 lead when Jamie May scored. Three minutes later BEADS fought back and pulled it back to 4-3 when Dean Talukder scored but they failed to make any further impression on the game as time ran out.

Fishburn Park 2 Thornaby FC 0

WHITBY side Fishburn Park entertained Thornaby who matched their hosts for the first half, which ended goalless. In the second half the home side took the lead on the hour when Jason Draper scored. With four minutes remaining Draper with his second of the game and eighth of the season secured the victory and the points to send Fishburn to the top of the First Division.

Hartlepool Chester 1 Carlin How 3

HARTLEPOOL Chester Hotel entertained league champions Carlin How, who took the lead after only five minutes when Michael Mackin scored from close range, his eighth of the season.

Carlin How doubled their lead 20 minutes later when a defensive error allowed Martin Say to make it 2-0 with his eighth of the season. Just before half-time Chester Hotel gave themselves a lifeline when Andrew McKenna pulled it back to 2-1 at half time. With full-time approaching Carlin How broke quickly and Sean Mackin, with his 15th of the season, secured the victory and the points.

Nunthorpe Ath 3 Whinney Banks 3

NUNTHORPE Athletic switched to Whinney Banks to get the fixture underway. Whinney Banks took a 2-0 lead when Danny Lockwood scored in the 20th minute, and 19 minutes later Lockwood doubled the lead to with his tenth of the season.

Three minutes before half-time Richard Christon pulled it back to 2-1 when he tapped home from close range. A minute later James Allen pulled it back to 2-2. On the hour Kevin Ness, with his sixth of the season, gave Nunthorpe Athletic the lead for the first time. But ten minutes later Lee Donachie with his first of the season pulled it back to 3-3.

GUISBOROUGH Town Black Swan, second in group two, entertained Darlington RA Reserves who were top of the group.

Darren Pearson, with his fourth goal of the season, gave Darlington RA a fourth minute lead. This was doubled ten minutes later when Richard Wilson scored his sixth of the season. In the second half the Black Swan pressed forward but were put on the back foot on the hour when Michael Richardson with his 11th of the season gave the RA a comfortable 3-0 win.

Spraire Lads 1 Guisb Quoit SC 6

DARLINGTON Spraire Lads season seems to be coming apart. They were Division Two leaders a few weeks ago, but have lost all three matches in November.

Darren Williamson gave the Quoit Club a 23rd minutes lead, three minutes before half-time. Brain Crawley doubled the visitors' lead. Ten minutes into the second half Dane Breckon made it 3-0 with his 10th of the season.

The floodgates then opened and Crawley made it 4-0 in the 57th minute and completed his hat-trick in the 65th minute. The Spraire Lads scored a consolation goal through Jack Outhwaite in the 79th minute but a minute later Crawley scored his fourth of the game and seventh of the season to secure victory and second place in the group two table.

Billingham Wndrs 0 Teesside Ath 0

TWO teams in group three without a point met at Billingham Rugby club, where Billingham Wanderers entertained Redcar side Teesside Athletic.

Billingham Wanderers are just above Teesside Athletic at the bottom of table.

Both side have failed to finish a league match without a clean sheet, but in poor conditions these two sides managed to do just that.

Darlington SRM 0 Stokesley SC 2

DARLINGTON SRM switched to Eastbourne Sports Complex so they could get their game underway when they entertained Stokesley SC. In the 25th minute David Aninokwah gave Stokesley the lead. Five minutes before half-time Martyn Pugh gave the visitors a 2-0 advantage and all three points.
