A FORMER Middlesbrough footballer rolled back the years when he helped to launch a new hair salon.

Mark Proctor, now the first team coach at the club, graced football pitches with his distinctive curly hair, but nowadays despite being slightly more follicly challenged he popped into to show his support.

Salon owner, Michelle Hall, was delighted that she was able to meet up with one of the heroes from the football club.

She said: “We have a photograph of him from around 23 years ago when he had all this thick black curly hair, but it is slightly different these days.

“It was great to have him come in and support the business as we have just got up and running.”

The 40-year-old wants to use the salon, which is in the Southlands Centre, Ormesby Road, Middlesbrough, as a training centre for young mothers who live in the area and give them a chance to get onto the employment ladder.

She said: “It would be great to get apprentices working in the salon and we hope to help as many people in the community as possible.”
