AN appeal has been launched to find volunteers to help to run the RNLI shop in Redcar.

To keep the shop at Redcar Lifeboat Station open, the lifesaving charity is looking for people who may want to gain retail experience in areas such as customer service, stock display and cash handling while at the same time helping to raise funds for the RNLI.

Ali Thomson, the charity’s retail manager, said: “We already have some very dedicated shop volunteers in Redcar but are hoping to find a few more to join the team. All volunteers will receive full training and will gain great retail experience as well as the knowledge that they are supporting the RNLI.”

Anyone interested in volunteering at the Redcar RNLI shop should contact Rod Campkin, volunteer shop manager, on 07879-566603 or 01642-271028.
