A MAN who clambered onto the rooftops of terraced houses after escaping from police has been arrested.
Paramedics and firefighters were called as a precaution while dozens watched as police tried to talk the man down from roofs in the Woodlands Road and Victoria Street area of Middlesbrough today (Tuesday, April 30).
Cleveland Police said they had approached the man, thought to be in his 20s, about another matter but he escaped and climbed on to the house roofs.
He was persuaded to come down after about two hours and was arrested and taken into custody.
A police spokeswoman confirmed no-one was hurt.
