STOLEN SPARE: A spare wheel was stolen from a Ford Transit van parked opposite Valley Terrace in Howden-le-Wear some time between Wednesday, April 24, and Saturday, April 27. A cable beneath the vehicle was cut enabling the thief to take the wheel. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crook Beat Team on 101.
HOBBIT SCREENING: The Hobbit, An Unexpected Journey (12) will be shown at the Upper Weardale Cinema Club in Upper Weardale Town hall in St John’s Chapel at 7pm on Friday (May 3). Annual membership to the club costs £2 with each film costing £2 for adults and £1.50 for children.
